I came to FBCTP in 1977.  I was looking for a church and knew a couple of families who attended there.  When I asked about the church they seemed pleased with it and invited me to come.

When I came, everyone made me feel welcome.  A year after joining, I began teaching preschool.  Since then I have taught every age group from pre-school through 6th grade.  I have enjoyed teaching children about God.  They are so eager to learn.

My four children were baptized there and my daughter Karen was married by the pastor Rev. Wright at an outdoor ceremony.

I have enjoyed my Christian family, although the faces have changed over the years, the love of the people has not.  Most of all, it has been a wonderful place to learn, grow and worship God.  I am blessed to have such a place.

One of the greatest ministries at FBCTP is our focus on prayer.  When we know a need, either of one of our members or a non-member, we take that need to God for His help.  We believe that God answers prayers.

When I first visited First Baptist, I was looking for the Word and for God's Presence.  We visited several places and they were nice, but I felt God's love and presence; and I prayed and the leading of the Spirit and the love I felt made us stay.

I have been struggling a little with where I was supposed to be since leaving our old church and I pray often that the Lord not leave me at this time that I needed Him.  I need Him to show me where I/we should be and while on vacation, I got my sign.  He's still with me leading me all the way. I saw and have a picture of the most beautiful cross in the sky.  I am blessed and He is my Lord and Savior!

SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK

The Lord is my strength and my Shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and with my song I praise Him.
